Notice about compatibility for Canon EOS 9000D (77D) and EOS Kiss X9i (Rebel T7i / 800D) with Tamron lens

Dear users and potential purchasers of Tamron interchangeable lenses.

Thank you for choosing Tamron

We would like to ask you to do the following when using a Tamron lens with the Canon camera body models listed above ONLY.

Prior to use, please turn OFF the “Lens aberration correction” function stated in the camera’s menu. This can only be done when in M, Av, Tv, and P modes. Failure to do so currently causes the bodies mentioned above to incorrectly identify the lens attached to the body and consequently apply incorrect aberration correction for our lenses.

We sincerely apologize to all users and potential purchasers for any inconvenience the issue may cause.

Please check back with us for updated news in regards to this by visiting our website at www.tamron-usa.com, calling customer service at 1-800-827-8880 option 1, or emailing us at custserv@tamron.com.

Both camera models affected by this issue were released in April 2017 in the USA.

Thank you,
Tamron USA

May 2015
SP 150-600mm VC Panning

Dear users and potential purchasers of Tamron interchangeable lenses for SP150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD (Model A011) for Nikon/Canon.

Thank you for using our well-acclaimed Telezoom SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD.

This lens is a high quality Super Performance-Telezoom for various types of photography. Due to the original design, the use of VC (Vibration Compensation) function could potentially increase the probability of image blur when shooting fast-moving subjects, such as racing cars, using a panning technique.

We are pleased to advise you that the VC function of SP 150-600mm now can be updated to accommodate panning shots with VC Mode “ON”.
Whether you try to capture a stationary subject or something moving at a relatively high speed such as automobiles, the system automatically selects the optimal VC mode by detecting the motion of the camera/lens outfit. Thus, no switch-over is required between “ON” and “OFF” after the update.

The modification can be done by overwriting the firmware data at Tamron authorized service station. For handling procedures please contact our service department at 1-800-827-8880 (option 1) or by emailing us at custserv@tamron.com.

This update only effects lens performance when taking panning shots, so you may continue to enjoy the lens without this upgrade.

Please feel free to inquire any further details. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Tamron USA

Canon EOS Viewer Utility Program

Thank you very much for your ongoing patronage. This message is to inform you that a minor error as explained below has been unfortunately found in one of our products: AF18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di-II LD Aspherical (IF) Macro (model A014) in Canon mount.

Nature of the inconvenience
While viewing images taken with the Tamron AF18-200mm XR Di-II lens (model A014) with the Canon EOS Viewer Utility Program, the lens description may be shown incorrectly. This has no effect on picture-taking or on lens performance.
The correct display for the focal range data while viewing the images with the Canon EOS Viewer Utility Program should read: 18-200mm
The incorrect display reads: 18-456mm

NOTE:
1. The actual focal length at which the images was recorded is correctly displayed in the Viewer Utility Program.
2. The incorrect information appears only where the focal length range of the lens is displayed in the Viewer Utility Program.
3. This symptom will only be seen while using the Canon EOS Viewer Utility Program. For those who need further assistance, please kindly contact Tamron's service department at 1-800-827-8880 or email repair@tamron.com for details.

Your kind understanding is appreciated.
