The world's first zoom starting at F2 at wide-angle for Sony mirrorless cameras, this new unique zoom features outstanding image quality. The zoom lens covers everything from the 35mm wide angle to 150mm telephoto, including all the commonly used focal lengths, so it’s very handy for travel because it can replace several single lenses. Seamlessly take photos without switching lenses in various situations.

Thanks to the latest optical design featuring four LD (Low Dispersion) and three GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements optimally arranged, the 35-150mm F2-2.8 provides superior optical performance throughout the entire zoom range. Even when used with today’s extra-high-resolution digital cameras, it consistently achieves high image quality to the edges of the frame and reduces onion ring bokeh (concentric circles) while presenting a beautiful, soft bokeh style that is achieved only by fast apertures.

The new 35-150mm F2-2.8 boasts the ability to take closeup photographs extremely close to the subject. At the 35mm wide-angle end, the MOD is 13”, achieving a maximum magnification ratio of 1:5.7. To further accentuate the subject and separate it visually from its surroundings, you can create a greatly blurred background using the large F2-2.8 maximum aperture.

The autofocus drive employs Tamron’s VXD linear motor focus mechanism to achieve focus from the MOD to infinity, even at the maximum F2 aperture, thanks to the speed and precision of this highly accurate autofocus system. Focus tracking is also extremely precise so you can capture sudden movements by your subject. The linear motor also suppresses drive noise and vibrations during focusing, making it ideal for shooting both still photos and video in environments that demand quietness.

The new lens is compatible with the Tamron Lens Utility™ software tool for lens function customization. Users can customize functions and update the firmware through the lens to provide flexible shooting options to match the shooting situation for still photography and videography. It is operated by connecting the lens from its Connector Port via the optional Tamron Connection Cable to the computer. Users can customize switch settings, switch the focus ring function from focus adjustment to aperture adjustment, change the rotation direction of the focus ring, set 2 focus positions (A and B) and shift the focus between A and B, and much more. The Tamron Lens Utility™ software can be downloaded from the Tamron website as of 10/28/21.

The lens also features a new design that provides enhanced grip and greater intuitive operation, as well as Moisture-Resistant Construction, Fluorine Coating, and a hood with locking mechanism for greater convenience.
